Prepping Your Mixes for Mastering

  • remove all bus processing
  • make sure you’re happy with your final mix
  • check that there is no noise, clicks or pops
  • solo and double check your vocals. Poor vocal edits are a common obstacle for mastering
  • print your mixes with some headroom.  -5dB (true peak) is enough
  • double check your mix after you bounce the mix
